Five for Friday: Vacation Edition

It seems like forever since I have joined a linky party! I'm very excited to be back in action with one of my favorites, Five for Friday hosted by none other than Kacey at Doodle Bugs Teaching
http://doodlebugsteaching.blogspot.com/2015/04/five-for-friday-linky-party-april-24.html
I have been very fortunate that this week springtime weather has finally arrived and I was able to spend my days outside enjoying the warm weather because I had spring break. Here are five random events from my vacation week.

This week I confessed my love for ESGI Software. Click the photo to read my full post.

If I had one teaching tool I couldn't live without, this would be the one! If you are a new subscriber, you can get $40 off your yearly subscription with the promo code B4155.

Nothing made me more excited this week than the announcement of the Fuller House spin-off. This show was my entire childhood! I can't wait to see the familiar faces and where they take the show!
Just when you thought Netflix couldn't get any better!

In other TV news, I can't even with Grey's Anatomy this week. If you are a fan, you know exactly what I am feeling! Thank goodness I was on vacation this week because clearly I need to recover from this madness!

Right before we left for vacation we decorated the windows with some stained glass butterflies. We were looking for a little touch of spring for when we returned. I have done these projects each season as inspired by Maria from Kinder Craze. We just love how beautiful they turned out!
Subscription boxes are pretty much all the rage right now. They have boxes for clothes, boxes for pet goodies, boxes for make-up, boxes for healthy foods, it seems there is a box out there for everything and everyone.

My question is, where can I find a box tailored for teachers? Like a box filled with smelly markers, stamps, stickers, books, and card stock? There are so many teachers out there that this has to be a product in the market! And if not, what are you subscription companies waiting for? If you know of one, please point it out to me! I'd love to subscribe!

Well that's it for my Five for Friday! Stay tuned to see what I am up to next week when I am back in the classroom! Hopefully I can keep up with this blogging trend once school picks up again! We are in the home stretch!

Kinder Kid Said What? Five for Friday!

I have made it out of the back to school kindergarten abyss alive! Honestly, it has not been anywhere as tiring and stressful as I thought it would be. The only downfall is that there is never enough time in the day and I can never get ahead on anything! This is pretty much the story of my life now!

This week has been full of assessments, assessments, and more assessments! Since that's not nearly as much fun to share in a Five for Friday post, I thought I would share five of my favorite kid quotes of the week. These kids keep me laughing on an hourly basis and make coming to work so much fun!

Khrys of Keepin' It Kool in Kinderland has this fun linky party going on and I couldn't help but link up! When you combine it with Kacey of Doodle Bugs Teaching, this linky themed post is so much fun!

So seriously though, do kinder kids not say the most adorable things? If this was part of your job, you would absolutely love it too! Go link up with Khrys and Kacey and share your happenings this week. I can't wait to read about your hilarious moments soon!

Currently: Five for August

It pains my teacher heart to say that August has finally arrived.

http://www.someecards.com/usercards/viewcard/MjAxMi02ZmQ3OGIzODQ5NmMzMmM2

My entire life I have always had two full months of summer vacation: July and August. We have always started after Labor Day. However, this year, my vacation didn't start until the end of the last week of June and I go back in less than two weeks. As excited as I am to meet my first set of my own kinder babies, just a little bit more vacation (to prep of course) would be lovely!

As much as I like to play the what day is it card...

My blogging buddies here like to keep me informed. Kacey at Doodle Bugs Teaching always reminds me when another Friday rolls around, and Farley at Oh Boy Fourth Grade always gets me on the first of the month. Since these linky parties are my favorite thing, I will suck up my summer sadness and share all my back to school excitement with the Five for Friday and Currently parties combined.

In case you missed the memo, I got a job teaching kindergarten! I could not be more excited! As all kinder teachers know, those babies steal your heart in a second!
My little 8 year old cousin is a teacher in the making. When she found out I had a job she could not wait to send me a list of things I need to do to prep. The "beafwear" and "elebetic" charts are my favorites.
This online teaching community has truly changed my life! When I posted this picture on Instagram asking for help, Rebecca Seeley replied in literally seconds and got right to work creating the most adorable labels that were even better than I could have dreamed of. If you need a TpT store to find some deals for the back to school sale, hit up her store by clicking HERE. You won't be sorry!
Speaking of the sale...did I mention that as a first year teacher, I might have a slight addiction to bundles? Once I checked into TpT bundles anonymous, I was able to cut my list in half from over $400 to the $200 range. Where did all the extra bundles go? Onto my wishlist and then some. When does the next TpT sale come around because I will be stocking up big time!

It is crazy to think that I will have been blogging for two years this month! So many things have happened in such a short period of time and I cannot wait to reflect on my journey when the time nears! But for now, I am off to find more items for the TpT sale and hopefully check some things off my to-do list. Lets hope I win some of those TpT gift certificate giveaways because this first year teacher is broke!

Five for Friday - May 9th

I am linking up with Doodle Bugs Teaching for Five for Friday to share the top 5 highlights of my week!
http://doodlebugsteaching.blogspot.com/2014/05/five-for-friday-linky-party-may-9th.html

NOTE: It is still teaching related, just not very "classroom" specific because I had my last week of college and did not substitute teach very much.

Now, let's get on with the show!

Job Search
(Source)
Now that I am officially done with my undergrad classes, I have begun the daunting task of job searching. When my advisors warned that the job search was a full time job in itself, they were not kidding! Morning, noon, and night I am on that computer searching for anything and everything!

Bargain Book Hunting
I rewarded myself with a little bargain book shopping spree at the thrift store for finishing classes. I got just over a foot of books (hardcover and paperback) for $40. Fantastic Scholastic titles in there too! Quite the steal if you ask me! Nothing makes me happier than some new books!

TPT Sale
http://the3amteacher.blogspot.com/
Did you shop the TPT sale this week? I know I did! Clearly I cannot stay away from a good sale! Clip art, digital papers, etc were my weakness! Then you throw in all those new bundles that just so happened to debut during the sale and you had me at hello!

Hooked on Phonics App
What would I do without Instagram? My friends posted this fabulous steal on Instagram and I hopped right to downloading! My only problem, the iPad didn't have enough room for all the units of books it contained! The app was such an amazing find! I am so thankful that the people at Hooked on Phonics truly appreciate all our hard work.

In Summer
I cannot contain my excitement for this little thing called "Summer"! Every time I think of the warm sunshiny weather, I get just as excited as Olaf! For all you teachers on the single digit countdown, you are some lucky ducks! We still haven't even made it to the alphabet countdown yet!

Well I am off to savor every single minute of the weekend! Not being abruptly woken up at 5am to substitute calls is going to be an absolute dream!
