#teachertalktuesday

I should have known that it was only a matter of time before we had an Instagram linky party from Michelle as she posts Five for Friday using only hashtags. That girl is obsessed and I love it!

Apples and ABC's and What the Teacher Wants are teaming up to host a fabulous weekly linky party on Instagram! All you have to do is post a picture on Instagram each Tuesday from your school day with #teachertalktuesday. Easy as that!

I was wondering where I was getting all these new Instagram followers from but now I am sure it is from these two. Instagram is hopping with teachers right now!

Are you on Instagram? If not you are seriously missing out! I was clueless about it at first but now I love it! You get daily snapshots into the lives of teachers that don't always get posted on their blogs. But my favorite part is that even if you don't have a blog, you can easily link up for this party if you just have a phone!

Here is a little snapshot of things I have shared from my account...
As you can tell it's a random hodge podge of stuff: nails, school stuff, desserts, and much more!

You can click the little instagram button on the right hand side of my blog to find me.
My account on instagram is @thepolishedteacher

Leave me your instagram name in the comments below so we can find each other. See you on Tuesday when the takeover begins!

Five For (Couldn't Wait For Next) Friday!

I missed a whole lot of blogging lately! Hopefully my Five for Friday with Kacey from Doodle Bugs Teaching will explain why!

1: In case you have been wondering where I have been, I have been without a computer for the last 2 weeks. My old laptop had some serious problems and just kept breaking all the time. I bought the warranty and thank goodness I did! I got a brand new laptop for free out of it! Now I am back in action and couldn't be happier!

2: I had to complete a portfolio of all the work I have accomplished thus far to prove that I was ready to student teach. I was quite nervous as it was a 20 minute interview but it all worked out well in the end. I aced it and my teacher said it was perfection!

3: Finally, finally, finally! I found out my student teaching placement and I couldn't be happier! I am so excited to get to student teach in kindergarten in the fall! I just know it is going to be fantastic! Stay tuned for some fantastic ideas real soon!

4: As if I wasn't busy enough, I organized a food drive this month. I collected a bunch of different snacks and created snack packs for homeless children. It was great to be able to give back to those children who need it most.

5. The group of firsties I am working with this semester are so much fun! They all have the greatest personalities and are such characters! This past week we did the Harlem Shake together. It was priceless! I am going to be so sad to leave them this week but I am excited to embark on my student teaching journey with my new class!

Well there you have it! I will be back on time this Friday to share a weekly recap with pictures! I promise! Have a great week!

Thanks to everyone for helping celebrate with me! I hope you had as much fun as I did!

Next up on the agenda is the Skittles Game!

This is one of Latoya's weekly getting to know you series games.

I love Skittles! I kind of have a problematic obsession with them. Normally I only eat the Wild Berry Skittles because I am a Skittle snob but this week the original flavors will have to do.

Here is the code:
Red- Favorite Ice Cream Flavor
Orange- Favorite Memory from College
Yellow- Favorite Sports Team
Green- Favorite Fast Food Place
Purple- Wild Card(Tell anything about yourself)

Red - Mint chocolate chip ice cream in a waffle bowl with piles of hot sauce! I might need to run to the store to pick some up after posting about this. I have a serious craving for ice cream now!

Orange - I am still in college and I am sure that my favorite memory will change by the time I graduate but for the time being, my favorite college memory is anytime that I spent with my 4 roommates just being ourselves. I know I will have these friends for life and they are truly a blessing.

Yellow - You would think that growing up in a sports crazed household that I would have a favorite team or at least sport but honestly I don't really have any. I used to get so connected to players and then they get traded to other teams for the money in the game and it turned me away. I don't go to a big sports school either so I don't have that college team pride. I will just let you all do the crazy sports fan thing for me.

Green - I don't really go out to eat many places but when I do I eat BK all the way. I used to be a Wendy's girl but they made too many new changes that I don't like anymore.

Purple - I would say that my wild card is that I have never drank soda or coffee in my life. It's going to be interesting to see how that no caffeine thing works when I am in the classroom full time. I have a feeling I am going to need some to keep up with the kiddos who have a never ending supply of energy!

Well there's a little bit about me according to some Skittles! Head on over to Latoya's blog to link up today!

Five for Friday

It's that time again to link up with Kacey for Five for Friday.
When it comes to Five for Friday, the week seems to just creep up on me so fast! Here are five random things from my week!

1. Spring has finally sprung! Tuesday was a heat wave! Walking out of the apartment you could just feel the warmth surround you. It reached a whopping 75 degrees! That's quite the contrast as just one week ago the temperature was still in the 30's. I really need to invest in some new sunglasses and flip flops if this weather is around to stay!

2. We learned a little bit about Earth Day this week. Recycling was a big focus as evident by the giant recycling bin! We drew ways that we could help respect the Earth. I just love kid art! Every picture is so unique!

3. This week we worked on living and non-living things. A unit perfect for Spring! We practiced reasoning why things were non-living.
Next we will grow plants and then it's time for the chicks. How much fun! I can't wait for that!

4. I know it's technically not something from this week but tomorrow I'm volunteering at the Special Olympics for the 3rd year in a row.
I just love it. Seeing the smiles on the athletes faces is priceless.

5. I'll leave you with a little laugh to end the week. Enjoy!

Don't forget to enter my 400 follower giveaway! It ends this weekend! You aren't going to want to miss out on these great prizes!

I whipped this one up really quick for you all. Roll and Cover games are a favorite in the classroom I'm in. Here's a Roll and Cover game themed for the wonderful rainy weather it brings! It's perfect to play on a rainy day for inside recess. It is in color but can also be printed in gray scale so it's easy on the ink! Hope you enjoy!
